POMC - Acetal Copolymer

Its commonly used name is Acetal. Acetals are crystalline polymers obtained by formaldehyde polymerization. Discovered in the early 1960s, acetal has excellent mechanical properties. It is a slippery material with a low coefficient of friction. It differs from polyamide material by its ability to withstand higher temperatures and a lower coefficient of friction. A smooth surface can be obtained with a processing technique suitable for machining.

APPLICATION

Mechanical: It is one of the most commonly used engineering plastics for mechanical applications such as wedges and bearings, and is used in production of low torque (rotational moment), gear wheels, conveyor rollers, precision machine components that require dimensional stability and tight tolerances, and gears. It differs from polyamide thanks to its low moisture absorption feature.
Food contact: Suitable for food contact. FDA compliant. Can be used in water up to 80 ° C
Electrical: It has insulating properties for electrical applications.
Chemical: Resistant to alkali and organic compounds. Thanks to its chemical properties, it is suitable for pump parts, flanges and components.
