PET
PET (Arnite) Polyethylene Terephthalate is a semi-crystalline polymer. It is suitable for mechanical parts that require dimensional stability and a low coefficient of friction due to its high mechanical strength. It is resistant to sunlight and UV. It is separated from POM material by its operating temperature between -20 ° C and 115 ° C. There are modified PET materials designed to provide higher shock resistance to PET by reducing the E-modulus.

Weak point:
The material is not very stable under impact strength. These properties can be improved as well as other polymers, but this process can cause deterioration in the typical properties of PET; hardness, compressive and flexural strength, etc.
APPLICATION:
Mechanical : Low coefficient of friction provides benefits for slide rails, slide ways, bearings and bushings suitable for the material. Provides excellent dimensional stability for sensitive parts. Does not compromise dimensional stability in humid and hot environments. However, it should be taken into consideration that residual water will hydrolyze under a water temperature of 50 ° C.
Food contact : May come into contact with food.
Electrical : Excellent (long-term stable) electrical properties make PET a suitable material for insulation and other electrical components.
Chemical : Good resistance to acids and chlorinated solutions.
